About the event
Since 1992, Swannanoa Gathering has welcomed thousands of musicians, dancers, singers, and artists to Warren Wilson College for one of the nation's premier traditional arts programs. Held each summer in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains near Asheville, the Gathering offers immersive week-long workshops taught by internationally recognized instructors in a friendly and inspiring community.
Participants can choose from a variety of specialized programs throughout the five-week season, including old-time music, Celtic music, traditional song, guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, dance, songwriting, and contemporary folk. Each week also features concerts, dances, jam sessions, and opportunities to learn alongside musicians from around the world.
Whether you're an experienced performer or just beginning your musical journey, Swannanoa Gathering provides an unforgettable opportunity to learn, create, and build lasting friendships while experiencing the rich musical traditions of Southern Appalachia.
